Meet Dr. Lavi

Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice

Dr. Alfred Lavi, is certified by the American Board of Family Practice as a primary care physician. He is the founder and medical director of United Care Family Medical Center.

Dr. Lavi and his staff care for a wide spectrum of patients including pediatrics, adults, obstetrics as well as geriatrics. Established in 2004, United Care Family Medical Center has been a bustling downtown Los Angeles clinic for nearly a decade. Due to the high demand for quality and efficient care in the LA area, UCFMC opened a second location in West Los Angeles in 2012.

Dr. Lavi received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in the field of Molecular Biology from University of California, Los Angeles. Subsequently, he received his Doctorate degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Graduating with honors he then completed a three-year Family Medicine residency at Harbor UCLA. Dr. Lavi’s formal and extensive training as a primary care physician enables him to provide quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As such, in addition to directing and supervising his own clinics, Dr. Lavi also attends to patients at California and Good Samaritan Hospital.

Under Dr. Lavi’s care, each patient receives tailored medical attention to achieve optimal and quality health care. Dr. Lavi has a strong interest in office procedures, medical education and community outreach. He is fluent in English, Farsi, Hebrew, and speaks basic Spanish, which adds a deep dimension to his connection with each individual patient.

Dr. Lavi's certifications include: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Controlled Substance Registration Certificate, and DEA. He is also an affiliated member of the American Family Practice Association, American Osteopathic Association and the Los Angeles County Medical Association.

Dr. Lavi also serves as the Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine at USC school of Medicine and Western University of Health Sciences. He is also a clinical professor of Family Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine and Midwestern University.

His interests outside of practicing medicine include soccer, backpacking, swimming, martial arts, religious studies and traveling. Dr. Lavi is also a devoted father and wonderful husband.
